Could not agree more. I once ran a project where the developers became a clique who refused to do what was required. Since they were the only people who knew how the system actually worked everyone was reluctant to resolve it. Thankfully the entire department was outsourced and the new company brought in their own people and fired them!

Thankfully that was a one off and now I tend to manage &lt;a href="http://www.my-project-management-expert.com/successful-project-teams.html" rel="nofollow"&gt;successful project teams&lt;/a&gt; which makes &lt;a href="http://www.my-project-management-expert.com/project-management-basics.html" rel="nofollow"&gt;project management basics&lt;/a&gt; and project delivery much, much easier!
