Agreeing with the above commenter here. While this is really good advice to take for the project manager, most of the time it's micromanaging executives that slow things down the most. It's best to lay down clear roles and responsibilities, as well as explain exactly what a highlight report is, so there's no misunderstandings.

What about the safety and confidentiality of the information you put on twitter? I'm more often looking to use online services to help me run my projects but I am always very hesitated to put internal company stuff online. Although you can make your tweets private, it is one of my main concerns (online drives like skydrive and so on are even blocked by my companies)

I have attended several such events (lucky me). One of the key points I wish to make is that the group need to spend some time whilst together to identify any changes that they believe are required to improve the performance of the team. It is then very important to make sure that those changes are implemented on your return, other wise the team will feel that their ideas are unimportant.

I think it's great that you tied social media and project management together - I am a rare combination of social media strategist and PMP, so I totally got the value of using social media to not just build your team, but to take advantage of the valuable tools (ever-changing!) that can keep it cohesive and make every project meet time, budget and scope! In fact, this PMP is going to spread the word in my blog for you - have a great day and thanks!
